Disability Parking
This policy relates only to parking at SUNY Brockport.
• For a temporary disability: If the student produces a note from a healthcare
provider at the Student Health Center, permission will be granted to park closer
to their classes or residence hall as parking is available for a maximum of
2 weeks. This privilege does not permit those vehicles to park in a space reserved
for disabled/handicapped parkers. Student Health Services will provide a note
that the student must take to Welcome Center & Parking Services. A temporary
hangtag will be issued.
• Permanent or long-term disability: We cannot provide handicapped parking
permits. These MUST be obtained from the student’s town, village, or
city of permanent residence.
• University Police and Welcome Center & Parking Services employees
strictly enforce areas reserved for those with valid issued handicapped passes.
Handicapped tags are checked for validity from the issuing agency. Passes may
be confiscated. Those vehicles in violation with these policies may be towed
or immobilized at owner’s expense. Tickets will be issued.
It is our intention to provide the best parking accommodations to those
students with special parking needs; and at the same time to ensure that
these privileges are not abused. All SUNY Brockport students are encouraged
to use the OTS campus shuttle for their transportation needs.
