What we’re doing
-
What WE are doing…
- In collaboration with Residential Life & Learning Communities, Welcome Center & Parking Services offers Brockport’s Fast TRAX, a campus bike borrowing program.
- Use the online Rideshare tool to make the task of searching for driving partners easy! SHARE A RIDE, NOT A PASS! Apply for a carpool permit to have access to a premium parking space on campus.
- Welcome Center & Parking Services has purchased a hybrid vehicle.

- We provide and encourage the use of our e-Parking online services to reduce the use of paper. Purchase your permit, pay citations and review your account history online.
- In regards to the Special Event & Recreation Center (SERC), we are supportive to the campus’ goal to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements. Parking spaces will not be added.
- Parking attendants are encouraged to patrol utilizing the bike donated by University Police.
- The annual Walk Bike Event, co-sponsored by Welcome Center & Parking Services, encourages the campus and village community to give their cars a rest and walk or bike to their designation. Click here for more information about the fall 2009 two-day event.
- Our parking lot greeters deter vehicular backup and idling.
- Several years ago we sponsored a landscape day where volunteers spruced up the landscaping at the Conrad Welcome Center.
- We are committed to promoting and encouraging healthy living. Our staff is fully involved in the annual campus “Eat Well, Live Well” campaign.
- We encourage use of shuttle services.
- Many of our communications are emailed instead of using paper.
- Our office uses rechargeable batteries.
- We shut down computers when they are not in use.
- We recycle paper, bottles, and cans.
- We promote NYS-Ride. This is a new program available to all NYS employees (except bargaining units 21 and 31 - Security Services) beginning July 2, 2008. The program allows employees to have pre-tax deductions made from their paycheck to reduce the out-of-pocket costs of using public transportation to commute. Click here to view the fact sheet/summary about this program. For more information, visit the NYS-Ride Web page or call 1-866-428-7781.
- Welcome Center & Parking Services now closes at 5 pm on Fridays to help the campus save on energy costs.
What more can WE do?
- Encourage more customers to complete parking related transactions using e-Parking.
