Meal Plans

How do I sign up for a meal plan?

On-Campus -First year resident students are automatically assigned the Two-A-Day Plan unless they choose a different plan. Returning students are assigned the same plan they had the prior semester, unless they choose a different plan. The deadline for making meal plan changes is the third Friday from the start of each semester.

Commuter and Townhome - These students may select Dining Dollars and/or any meal plan. Students who add $500 in Dining Dollars will get an additional $25 for free, and those who add $250 will receive an extra $10 for free! Students who sign up for Dining Dollars or a meal plan in the fall will automatically be enrolled in the same Dining Dollars/meal plan for the spring semester, unless they request a change.

How do I change my meal plan?

Students have until the third Friday of each semester to choose a different plan. Students can change their meal plan online, at the BASC Business Office located on the first floor of Brockway Hall or by calling (585) 395-2570. The change will then be reflected on your student bill.

Where can I use the meals on my dining plan?

"Meals" can only be used at one of the all-you-care-to-eat dining halls (Brockway and Harrison).

Where can I use Dining Dollars?

Dining Dollars can be used at any dining location on campus.

What does continuous service at Brockway Dining Hall mean?

Brockway Dining Hall is open Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 7:30 pm and on Fridays from 7:30 am - 2 pm. In between meal periods (10 - 11 am and 2 - 4 pm), limited menu options are available. For example, between 10 - 11 am, limited hot breakfast and/or lunch items may be available. From 2 - 4 pm, salad, soup, deli, fruit, cereal, ice cream, and beverages are available.

Since Brockway Dining Hall offers continuous service, for what meal will I be charged?

For students on the Two-A-Day, Unlimited, Any 10, Any 7, or Any 5 Plans, you will use a "meal" to dine at Brockway Dining Hall no matter what time you go. If you are paying with any other form of payment (Dining Dollars, Easy Money, cash, debit/credit card) the following times are for meal pricing only:

  • 7:30 - 10:59 am - Breakfast Price
  • 11 am - 3:59 pm - Lunch/Brunch Price
  • 4 - 7:30 pm - Dinner Price

I have the Unlimited Plan. What does that mean?

It means that you can eat as many meals as you like at Brockway or Harrison Dining Halls. You never have to worry about running out. Just remember that your meal plan is for you only, that the unlimited meals do not apply to retail locations, and that other than one piece of fruit or one dessert, food and beverages cannot be removed from either Brockway or Harrison Dining Halls. You may, however, use your Dining Dollars at any retail location.

Who can use my meal plan?

All meal plans come with three guest passes that you can use to treat friends or family in either dining hall. If you use all of those, you may purchase more at the BASC Business Office. Other acceptable forms of payment for guests include Easy Money, cash or credit card. Dining plans (including meals and Dining Dollars) are for the meal plan holder only.

What is a guest pass?

A guest pass allows the cardholder to pay for someone else (or themselves) at Brockway or Harrison Dining Halls. A guest pass may be used for any meal. All residential dining plans come with three guest passes.

Can I purchase additional guest passes?

Students on any residential meal plan may purchase up to 5 guest passes for $6 each per semester at the Business Office. Generally, it is a better value to buy a guest pass, than to pay the cash price for a meal at the dining halls. Students with Townhome and Commuter Dining Plans are not eligible to purchase guest passes.

What are the hours of service?

The hours of service for our nine dining locations can be found here.

Can I use more than one meal during a meal period?

Only one meal is permitted per meal period for those on the Two-A-Day, Any 10, Any 7, and Any 5 Plans. However, these plan holders may purchase a meal with another form of payment (Dining Dollars, Easy Money, cash, or credit/debit card). The Unlimited Plan has no limit to the number of meals per meal period. Meal periods are posted at hours of service link above.

How do the Any 10, 7, or 5 Plans work?

These plans contain the indicated number of meals per week. These are all-you-care-to-eat meals that can be used in either Brockway or Harrison dining halls. Each time you use a meal, one is subtracted from your balance, and the number of meals remaining will display at the point of sale. Weekly meals are reset each Monday morning. Meals are for the meal plan holder's use only and they do not roll over from week to week.

Can I inquire at the register how many meals I have left?

Yes. In addition, your meal balance will display each time you swipe your card at Brockway or Harrison Dining Halls.

On the Two-A-Day Plan, if I eat only one meal today, will the second meal roll over to tomorrow?

No. Meals per day do not rollover. If you wish to purchase a third meal in a given day, you would need to use an alternate form of payment (Dining Dollars, Easy Money, cash, or credit card).

If I am on the Two-A-Day Plan and I have used my two meals for breakfast and lunch, how can I pay for dinner?

You may pay for dinner using Dining Dollars, Easy Money, a guest pass, cash, or credit card. Your plan will default to Dining Dollars so if you prefer to use a different method of payment simply inform the cashier before they swipe your card.

What are Dining Dollars?

Most meal plans come with a designated amount of Dining Dollars. Accessed through your Eagle One card, Dining Dollars act as a debit account for students to make meal purchases. Students like the flexibility of Dining Dollars because they can be used at any dining location on campus. And, you'll save 8% (New York State Tax) when you spend Dining Dollars instead of cash. When you make a purchase using Dining Dollars, that amount will be deducted from your account and the remaining account balance will display at the point of sale. You can add Dining Dollars to your account at anytime.

Do Dining Dollars roll over from semester to semester?

Dining Dollars roll over from the fall to spring semesters (provided you sign up for a spring meal plan), but do not roll over from academic year to academic year.

Eagle One ID Cards

Where do I get an Eagle One card?

You must go in person to the Business Office on the first floor of Brockway Hall to get an Eagle One (ID) card or a replacement card.

What if I lose my Eagle One card?

You must go in person to the Business Office on the first floor of Brockway Hall to get a new Eagle One card or a replacement card. If your Eagle One card is lost or stolen, we recommend that you deactivate your card until you either get a temporary card or purchase a new Eagle One card. Once you have deactivated your card you must go to the Business Office to reactivate your card, get a temporary ID card or purchase a new Eagle One card. There is a $25 replacement fee to replace your Eagle One card.

TEMPORARY CARDS: In the event that an Eagle One ID card is misplaced, a temporary card can be issued by going to the Business Office in Brockway Hall (M-F, 8 am-5 pm), or TRAX (M-F 5 pm-1 am, Sat & Sun 12 pm-1 am) if the Business Office is closed. The temporary card will expire in 4 days and MUST be returned to the Business Office or a $25 fine will be imposed. The temporary ID card replaces your Eagle One ID card; therefore if you find your ID card it will not work. You must bring the temporary ID card and your Eagle One ID card to the Business Office to reactivate your card.

The temporary ID card will not work for the residence hall entry system; you can get a temporary resident hall entrance card from your resident director.

Can I loan my Eagle One card?

No. When you sign up for a meal plan, you are entering a contractual agreement with the college in return for tax-exempt status. Loaning your card to someone else is a direct violation of that agreement. Also, your Eagle One card protects you from identity theft and therefore protects your meal plans and Easy Money accounts.

Where do I get accessories for my Eagle One card?

The College at Brockport lanyards are available from the Brockport Student Government offices or the Barnes & Noble College Bookstore. The Business Office sells plastic card holders for $1.00 that make it easy to carry your card on a lanyard or keychain.

Why didn't my card work when I tried to purchase something?

To use your Eagle One card to purchase goods and services you need to have either a Dining Plan Account or an Easy Money account active on your card. If you did not purchase one, you may at the Business Office in Brockway Hall or you can sign up online. If you had an Easy Money account last semester, you may be low on funds and you may add more using the online account management tool (you need to know your Banner ID#).

Why didn't my card work at the dining halls (Brockway and Harrison)?

There are several reasons this is possible:

  1. You have not purchased a dining plan or Easy Money. Commuter students are not assigned a dining plan unless they decide to purchase one.
  2. You do not have sufficient funds in your account. You can add more Dining Dollars or Easy Money online, by calling 585-395-2570, or by stopping at the Business Office in Brockway Hall.
  3. You have a defective or worn ID Card. Please go to the Business Office in Brockway Hall to get a new one.

Why does the vending machine say "Reader Offline or Cash Only" when I swipe my card?

The vending machines are connected to the campus network, so anytime there is a network problem, the vending machines will go "offline" and thus swiping your card will not work. You can still use cash, but using your Easy Money on your Eagle One card to buy goods out of the vending machines requires a working network connection in order to function correctly. It's also possible that the vending machine is simply malfunctioning, so we really depend on users to be our eyes and let us know when problems arise so that we can act promptly.

If you wish to report a machine with this problem please click here. Please include the type of machine, building and floor number.

Why doesn't my Eagle One card open my residence hall door?

The Eagle One card is used as a universal identifier. For security reasons, each residence hall controls access to their areas. If your Eagle One card does not work in the residence hall door that you should have access to, contact the adminstrator at Residential Life.
